First archeologically found establishments are almost 10000 year old. The oldest finds are from the site near Pärnu river which is from the middle of 8000 BC.

Estonian is populated today by a one and half million people, making estonians the third biggest Fenno-Ugric group after the Hungarians and Finns by the population size.
